| Back in the ‘80’s a polished beef bone previously belonging to my dog became my medium for creating one of the first American folk arts—scrimshaw. First done by whaling fleets over 150 years ago, I enjoyed this tedious method of scratching miniature images onto a surface and filling with color. I prefer using mediums other than the typical ivory so click here to see my scrimshawed artwork on legal ivory, egg shell, jet and even wood. I invite you to return soon, as I will be changing the images regularly! |
